Close14 Karat Gold Filled is a material where a layer of 14-karat gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal, making it more durable and resistant to wear compared to simple gold plating. This makes it an affordable and long-lasting alternative to solid gold jewelry.
Manufactured in: Switzerland
Length of the earrings: approx. 6 cm
The earrings are delivered in a high-quality cotton gift bag.
Please note that due to the natural properties of the gemstone, each pair of earrings has its unique appearance, and each stone may differ slightly from the others.
Your jewelry piece is quite water-resistant. However, you should avoid contact with shampoo, shower gel, or perfume.
We create and manufacture the jewelry in our own studio in Basel. The fascinating variety of gemstone colors and the preserved time they bring with them continuously inspire us to develop new designs and color combinations. In addition to gemstones, we use high-quality metals such as 14-karat gold filled, 925 sterling silver, stainless steel, and brass.
Freshwater Cultured Pearls
Freshwater cultured pearls are pearls grown in freshwater mussels. They are distinguished by their variety, as they come in a wide range of shapes and colors. From round to irregular, baroque pearls, and colors ranging from white to cream, pink, lavender, and peach.
The culturing process begins with a tiny nucleus, often made from shell material or another suitable substance, being inserted into the soft tissue of a freshwater mussel. This nucleus acts as a foreign body around which the mussel forms nacre (mother-of-pearl). Over time, the mussel deposits layers of nacre around the nucleus, forming the pearl.
Compared to harvesting pearls from wild mollusks, the cultivation of freshwater pearls is generally more environmentally friendly.
