Gold-filled jewelry is a type of jewelry where a thick layer of real gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal, such as brass or copper. Unlike gold-plated jewelry, which has only a very thin layer of gold applied to the base metal, gold-filled jewelry consists of a much thicker gold layer.
This gold layer is applied to the base metal through heat and pressure, resulting in a very durable and high-quality surface. Gold-filled jewelry therefore looks like solid gold jewelry but is much more affordable since the core is made of a less valuable metal.
It's important to note that the gold layer in gold-filled jewelry is much more resistant to wear and tear than in gold-plated jewelry and does not easily flake off or wear away with normal use. It is, therefore, a high-quality alternative to solid gold jewelry.
